A great rainy day activity is a trip to the museum of Lincolnshire life. It is free to enter (unless a special event is going on) and the exhibits depict a “varied social history that reflects and celebrates the culture of Lincolnshire and its people from 1750 to the present day”. A wonderful museum, this museum is a great stop during your time in Lincoln!

6) the Collection
From art to archeology, this is another great stop for museum lovers visiting Lincoln!
5) High Street
Like most English cities, High street is where its at in Lincoln! Much of the street is cobblestone, and all sorts of cute shops and cafes lining it! It starts down by the train station, and leads straight up to steep hill!

4) Steep Hill
A very literal name, steep hill is an incredibly steep pedestrian street leading up to castle quarter. It is definitely worth the climb for the views and historical sites at the top of the shops along the way!
3) the Victorian Prison
The Victorian Prison is located in the walls of the Lincoln Castle, and is a nearly fully refurbished victorian era prison. It held prisoners during the mid to late 1800s, and held criminals from petty thieves to murderers, and is an incredibly interesting glimpse into the past!

2) Lincoln Cathedral
Construction began on this cathedral in 1072 A.D., and has been the set of many movies such as the Da Vinci Code and the Young Victoria. It is truly an astonishing sight from the ground, and from the nearby castle walls, towering above the nearby brick homes. Tours are available, though as with most castles, you can walk around for free or a donation.
1) Lincoln Castle (and the Magna Carta!)
Originally constructed in the 11th century, this castle was originally built by William the Conqueror and has been witness to some of the most dramatic moments in all of English history. The victorian prison resides within the walls, and the walls are fully available for walking and sight seeing, but also locate on sight is one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta.
