Glasgow, Scotland is the largest city in Scotland, and a wonderful adventure for those travelers who especially enjoy exploring cities! Though it is largely modernized, Glasgow offers a mix of new age and ancient structures and culture all in the city centre!

6) the River Clyde

The River Clyde runs through much of the city, and there are paths so you can walk right along the banks of it in the city centre! It is a beautiful sight in the city, with all sorts of interesting bridges and buildings in view of the riverside. Plus, much of the path along the river isn’t in the busier part of town, so you can have a nice leisurely and mostly peaceful stroll along the water!

5) Glasgow Green Park

Green Park was established in the 15th Century, and is the oldest park located within the city of Glasgow! It is located at the east end of the city and runs along the river Clyde, offering luscious green spaces, and numerous monuments and fixtures to keep you busy for a while!

4) George Square

Just a short walk from Glasgow Central, George Square is the principal civic square in the city. Founded in 1781, this beautiful square in the heart of Glasgow is a beautiful sight to see, with beautiful statues, fixtures and buildings in and around the area!

3) Buchanan Street

Buchanan Street is the hub of the city centre! It is one of Glasgows main shopping thoroughfares in the city, and is the central stretch of the famous shopping district! If you like shopping or enjoy sipping tea in a crowded part of town, Buchanan street is for you!

2) Glasgow Necropolis

As eerie as it may sound, the Glasgow Necropolis is really a sight to see. This Victorian era burial ground is filled with eloquent structures and fixtures that make it a sight like no other. Located right behind the Glasgow Cathedral, a set of golden and black gates before a cobblestone road and bridge lead up to a hill covered in graves as old as 1832. If you can get over the idea that you’re walking around a mound that contains the remains of about 50,000 people, it really is a beautiful spot!

Glasgow Cathedral is known by many names – High Kirk of Glasgow, St Kentigern’s, St Mungo’s Cathedral – and it is an incredible sight. Dedicated in the 10th century, this ancient structure is incredibly beautiful to tour, and even beautiful just to gawk at from outside! This church is rich with history, being the oldest cathedral in mainland Scotland, and the oldest building in Glasgow.
