A Quick Intro
Hello and welcome to the Cheap and Lazy Traveler – a guide to travel from a fellow cheap and lazy traveler! My name is Shannon, and I’m from Upstate New York, but I moved to Liverpool, England in 2018 to study Finance at LJMU. Though the Coronavirus brought my travels to a halt in March of 2020, I was still able to fit 9 countries in with only 6 months living in the UK!
Since I can’t travel right now, as I am in lockdown studying remotely from the states, I thought I might start this blog for a few reasons:
- I wanted to share what I have learned in my travels thus far, and offer up any tips and tricks I wish I had known back when I first started traveling.
- In a time where we are so isolated from each other, I wanted to offer an opportunity to build a community around something I love.
- One of my favorite things to do while traveling is take photographs. I feel its a waste to just keep them on an SD card at the back of my closet, so I have created an online portfolio to supplement this blog: shannonrp.com.
- And finally, it’s just nice to have a project as the world seems to slip further into madness!
Okay, maybe that last bullet is a little bit of an exaggeration, but everything else stands! So what is this blog about? There are a lot of different things I hope to write about, as is listed below, but primarily I want to help anyone out there whose looking to travel, looking to learn about living in a different country, or just looking for their next favorite destination! And most importantly, I want to write for two demographics I have always considered myself a part of: the Cheap and the Lazy!
